It’s called Operation Smile, and done in co-operation with plastic surgeons at the Mercy ship, visiting Dili right now. Getting rid of the cleft lips puts a great smile on both the patient’s face, and on ours…
More than 50 have been screened at the clinic today, and about 45 of them will be operated at the Mercy ship, starting Sunday. Tomorrow the screening will continue, and we will update you later on the final number that have gotten a new smile on their face…
There will be a few more contagious smiles in East Timor the next days! And we are so happy to bring some good news… Thanks to all volunteers and organisers for this intense undertaking!
