Bethany studied Medicine at the University of Western Australia, and is a qualified procedural General Practitioner with an Advanced Diploma of the RANZCOG (Obstetrics & Gynaecology). Before coming to Dili she worked her previous seven years in the regional WA town of Geraldton, mostly in obstetrics.
Bethany’s interest is in teaching and training Timorese doctors, midwives and birth attendants in providing safe obstetric and neonatal care. She also has a Certificate in International Health & Development from Tabor College in Adelaide.
Bethany moved to Dili in May 2016 with her husband, Dr Jeremy Beckett, and their four young children, with a plan to make Dili their home for the foreseeable future.
